Information security co Promisec wins Texas deal

The contract is considered a major success because it will be easier for Promisec to sell its solution to other states now that it has won a major government customer.

Clientless endpoint management solutions developer Promisec is riding a wave of increased budgets for strengthening computer systems at government entities in the US. The start-up reported that it won an enterprise license agreement with the State of Texas Department of Information Resources.

Under the deal, more than 1 million endpoints at Texas state agencies, elementary and high schools, and state institutions of higher education will gain the rights to Promisec's technology.

While the company's notice did not supply the financial value of the deal, estimates are that the five year deal will provide $15 million revenue to Promisec.

Promisec develops Clientless Endpoint Management (CEM) software solutions that eliminate threats and optimize corporate internal networks. The technology allows IT managers to identify and resolve security, compliance, and policy issues, without making any changes to the network or terminals.

The Promisec contract follows new US regulations which compel states and government bodies to battle "cyber terror" which arrives through the Internet.

The Texas deal is considered a major success because it will be easier for Promisec to sell its solution to other states now that it has won a major government customer.

Promisec was founded by brothers Amir and Hilik Kotler, Doron Ofenbach, and Roni Suchowski. The company has raised $5 million to date from private investors and US venture capital firm Old City Partners (OCP).
