Ness wins water co maintenance mg't deal

The system will link Mekorot's budget, activity, analysis, and work schedule.

IT integrator Ness Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: NSTC; TASE: NSTC) has won a multimillion dollar contract from Mekorot National Water Company to install a SAP-based maintenance management system. Ness will implement and deploy the system over 18 months, and has an option to maintain it afterwards.

The system will manage preventive, corrective and planned maintenance activities of Israel's national water supply system, on the basis of to Mekorot's annual work plan, budget and pre-planned, frequency-based schedule. The system will also enable resource management, maintenance activity analysis, and connection with technicians using mobile devices by interfacing with Mekorot's existing information systems.

Mekorot's water supply system includes more than 800 pumping stations, over 1,200 wells, 2,400 pumps, over 10,500 kilometers of large-diameter pipes, 750 concrete and steel reservoirs, and 90 large earth reservoirs. Mekorot supplies 80% of Israel's drinking water and 70% of its entire water supply.

Ness' share price rose 3% on Nasdaq yesterday to $6.31, giving a market cap of $242 million. The share price rose 3.7% by midday on the TASE today to NIS 23.93.
