Spectronix wins US Army spare parts contracts

The company also won a contract from a European shipyard to supply damage control and fire extinguisher systems for naval vessels.

Spectronix Ltd. (TASE:SPCT) has received orders worth $2 million from the US Army for the supply of spare parts for systems installed in mine-resistant ambush protected all-terrain vehicles (MRAP-ATV). The Sderot-based company makes optical sensors for the detection of fire, gas, and explosives.

Spectronix is also negotiating with US Army logistics subcontractors for the supply of even larger orders for spare parts during 2010.

In addition, Spectronix announced that it has won a $700,000 order from a European shipyard to supply damage control and fire extinguisher systems over the next three years for naval vessels.

In early afternoon trading on the TASE, Spectronix's share was up 2.49% to NIS 40.40.
