Yossi Vardi: Nazareth is more remote than San Francisco

"There should be more contact between Arab and Jewish high-tech people and cooperation should be increased."

"I must admit that I am coming to Nazareth as an ignoramus. For me, Nazareth is farther away than San Francisco. We all have an interest in bringing the two communities closer together. There should be more contact between Arab and Jewish high-tech people and cooperation should be increased," high-tech guru Yossi Vardi said at the Arab Business Conference in Nazareth today.

Vardi added, "In the past few months, I've been exposed to a range of high-tech ventures in the Arab community. I see signs of activity, which will grow. The biggest opportunities are in collaborations between the high-tech industry developing in the center and in Haifa and the high-tech industry in Nazareth and the Galilee."

Vardi said that the conference organizer told him that he has organized 1,000 high-tech conference with 7,000 panelists, of whom only four were Arabs. "We need to see more Arab high-tech people attending conferences and sitting on panels," he said.
