“Globes” Capital Markets Conference 2010: The post-crisis economy

The conference brings together business sector leaders and public officials to discuss the issues on the social-economic agenda in Israel, as markets emerge from a global economic crisis.

The “Globes” Capital Markets Conference, an annual event that covers banking and capital markets issues, will be held on May 5th at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv. It is held in conjunction with BDO Ziv Haft.

The conference is conducted in Hebrew, without simultaneous translation.

The conference brings together business sector leaders and public officials to discuss the issues on the social-economic agenda in Israel, as markets emerge from a global economic crisis.

Among issues to be discussed during the conference will be:

  • Is there a bubble in the stock market?
  • Have institutional investors learned lessons from the credit crisis?
  • Who is taking care of pension savings?
  • Will management fees continue to rise?
  • Who will end up with control of Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI)?
  • What will be the outcome of pension advice revolution?

    Among participants are Israel Securities Authority chairman Zohar Goshen, Ministry of Finance Accountant General Shuki Oren, Ministry of Finance Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance, and Savings Oded Sarig (in his first public presentation since taking on the role), Association of Banks in Israel executive director Moshe Perl, Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) chairman Yair Seroussi, Eliahu Insurance Ltd. chairman Shlomo Eliahu, Professor Amir Barnea, Israel Phoenix Assurance Ltd. (TASE: PHOE1;PHOE5) CEO Eyal Lapidot, Clal Finance Underwriting chairman and oil exploration partnership Modiin Energy LP (TASE:MDIN.L) controlling stakeholder Tzahi Sultan, and Migdal Capital Markets chief investment manager Yaakov Weinstein.

    Also participating will be top executives of capital markets firms, academic and research leaders, analysts, and others. Business leaders will take part alongside public officials, including representatives of government ministries and regulatory authorities.

    The “Globes” Capital Markets Conference 2010 is a major facilitator of the direct dialogue between leaders of the economy and the local capital market community. The conference will focus on the new post-crisis financial reality - the objectives, dilemmas, and challenges posed - in order to set the social-economic agenda.
