Walla! was accused of recruiting a worker to gain confidential information from its rival.
A cease-fire has been reached in the battle between Internet rivals Nana10 and portal Walla Communications Ltd. (TASE: WALA). The Central District Court today accepted a settlement in the industrial espionage case between the companies.
Nana10 had claimed that a senior employee of Walla!, Avital Grushevsky, was only hired in order to obtain confidential information in Nana10's possession. Under the settlement, he will not begin to work for Walla! for six weeks, nor will he be permitted to meet with Walla! employees or pass to them any information he has about Nana10.
Judge Jacob Shienman gave the settlement the force of law. The settlement was reached after Nana10 petitioned on Monday for an injunction against Walla!, on the grounds that it was trying to obtain commercial secrets about MASA, Nana10's new joint marketing venture with MSN Israel, and to use industrial espionage to sabotage the innovative venture.
