Ituran Cellular Communication wants to launch service in 2011.
Ituran Location and Control Ltd. (Nasdaq:ITRN); TASE:ITRN) unit Ituran Cellular Communication Ltd. today obtained a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license. It is the third company to obtain a license, after New Hamashbir Lazarchan Ltd. (TASE:MSZB) unit Telecom 365 Ltd., and Free Telecom Ltd.
With the license, Ituran Cellular Communication can begin negotiations with the mobile carriers on a contract on the terms and price for using their networks. The company wants to launch service in 2011.
If Ituran Cellular Communication cannot reach a deal with one or more of the mobile carriers, Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon will set the use terms for the company. He has already said that he prefers for the companies to reach deals without his intervention.
