The Sammy Ofer Stadium will cost about NIS 400 million.
Electra Ltd. (TASE: ELTR) subsidiary Electra Construction Ltd. and BST Development and Construction Company Ltd. have jointly won the tender to build the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa with a bid of NIS 138.6 million. The bid was NIS 75,000 less than the bid by Shikun u'Binui Solel Boneh Building and Infrastructure Ltd., a unit of Shari Arison-controlled Shikun u'Binui Holdings Ltd. (TASE: SKBN).
The total cost of the new 32,000-seat soccer stadium at the southern entrance to Haifa is NIS 400 million. The Haifa Economic Corporation initiated the project, which is named for Sammy Ofer, who donated NIS 75 million toward the cost. The stadium will meet FIFA and UEFA standards.
