VoIP solutions developer AudioCodes Ltd. (Nasdaq: AUDC; TASE: AUDC) has extended VMAS family of Mobile VoIP solutions to Blackberry and Android. VMAS now offers carriers a complete solution covering all leading mobile operating systems, such as Symbian, Windows Mobile, Apple iOS, Blackberry OS and Android, as well as its existing solutions for the PC and Web.
AudioCodes said that the growing availability of high-speed mobile broadband, use of smartphones and the emergence of flat rate mobile data pricing have bolstered the growth of mobile VoIP and made it an integral part of the future. It cites a Frost & Sullivan report which said, "Mobile VoIP has become a credible threat to the traditional voice revenues."
AudioCodes COO Lior Aldema said, "The growth of Mobile VoIP can be seen as a serious challenge to Service Providers, but VMAS offers the ability to ride this wave and actually increase revenues. We want to help traditional carriers evolve into cutting edge mobile IP Providers and offer a comprehensive solution that is compatible with every major combination of smartphone and operating system."
VMAS is a mobile VoIP and SoIP (SMS over IP) solution for mobile devices, the PC and internet.
AudioCodes' share price fell 2% at the opening on Nasdaq today to $3.02, giving a market cap of $122 million, after falling 0.4% on the TASE to NIS 11.65.
