Communications Minister meets telecom tycoon Carlos Slim

The world's wealthiest man impressed Moshe Kahlon with his knowledge of Israel's telecom market.

Israel's Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon met with telecom tycoon Carlos Slim, the world's wealthiest man according to "Forbes," at the International Telecommunication Union conference in Guadalajara, Mexico. The meeting lasted longer than scheduled.

Slim expressed great interest in the latest developments in Israel's telecom sector but is unlikely to invest in any ventures in the country.

Slim impressed Kahlon with his knowledge of Israel's telecom sector and said he expected Israel's cellular operators to remain strong and profitable even if their profits are reduced.

Slim's family immigrated to Mexico from Lebanon.
