Open Range deploys Alvarion equipment

Beamforming is a method of directing the radio beam to optimize the signal reception by the subscriber device based on the location of device, increasing device throughput and sector capacity.

Wireless broadband systems company Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) said that US broadband wirelesss provider Open Range Communications has deployed Alvarion's Beamforming technology in Open Range’s network.

Beamforming is a method of directing the radio beam to optimize the signal reception by the subscriber device based on the location of device, increasing device throughput and sector capacity.

The deployment is on of the first 4 Transmit (4TX) Beamforming networks in the world.

Alvarion’s implementation of Beamforming in the Open Range network showcases enhanced wireless broadband experience through extended capacity and higher data speeds in a single frequency network or in an interference environment.

Shares in Alvarion closed on Monday at $2.22, giving a market cap of $138.04 million.
