Ceva licenses communication processor to Intel

CEVA-XC is a digital signal processor (DSP) designed specifically for 4G terminals and wireless infrastructure.

Silicon intellectual property and DSP core licenser Ceva Inc. (Nasdaq:CEVA); LSE:CVA) today reported a licensing deal with chip giant Intel. The deal was for the CEVA-XC communication processor.

CEVA-XC is a digital signal processor (DSP) designed specifically for 4G terminals and wireless infrastructure. It supports multiple air interfaces in software, including LTE, TD-LTE, WiMAX 16m, HSPA+, HSPA, TD-SCDMA, GSM and CDMA.

Ceva CEO Gideon Wertheizer said, "We are honored that Intel has selected our flagship CEVA-XC DSP. Our technology enables industry leaders like Intel get instant access to the most advanced and performance demanding wireless standards."

Ceva shares jumped 6.5% on Nasdaq by mid-afternoon.
