Canada's Ghermezian family hires former Ericsson Israel CEO

Shlomo Liran will assist Keshernet's mobile carrier tender bid.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Canada's Ghermezian family has hired former Ericsson Israel CEO Shlomo Liran as a director of Keshernet, to help the company's bid in the tender for a new mobile carrier.

Liran is an important recruit for Keshernet, given his experience and background in the operations, marketing, and engineering of mobile networks. He is considered an authority in the field, with a CV that includes managing Sweden's Hi3G Access AB and Ericsson Israel. He is currently CEO of Avgol Nonwoven Industries Ltd. (TASE:AVGL).

The sources added that Keshernet has also hired Trigger Foresight Ltd. as an advisor for the tender, as well as former El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) CEO and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) VP Haim Romano. The company has already hired 25 people, and rented offices in Tel Aviv's high-tech district of Ramat Hahayal.

Keshernet founder CEO Yehiel Benshoshan, returned from the US to found the company and brought in the Canadian Jewish family Ghermezian as investors.
