New web portal aimed at Arab women

Niswan will be the first Arabic news site for Israeli-Arab women.

Panorama Media, which operates the portal Panet, has launched a news portal for Arab women, Niswan. The portal is intended for Arab women in Israel and around the world. Topics will include news, fashion, social events, health and beauty, brides and grooms, pregnancy and childbirth, and women and the family.

Niswan's set-up costs are estimated at over NIS 500,000. Niswan's newsroom will be completely separate from Panet's. Niswan will be the first Arabic news site for Israeli-Arab women.

Panorama Media estimates the number of Niswan's unique users at over 200,000 a day, according to Google Trends.

Panorama Media CEO Bassem Jaber said, "We founded Niswan, which means women in Arabic, because we believe that the Israeli-Arab women deserve journalism services at the same level enjoyed by the entire Arab community by Panet."
