Protesters: This is Camp Netanyahu; the public is desperate

Dafni Leif said that MK Miri Regev told a protester, "You are closed minded."

"Welcome to the immigrant camp of Netanyahu. Any moment, we will be homeless. The goal is to lower prices and put them into proportion so that people can rent and buy apartments. This isn't just about Tel Aviv. Protesters have come from Yavne, Kfar Sava, and Beersheva… the public is desperate," Dafni Leif, the initiator of the tent protest, said yesterday in a video clip that protest organizers uploaded to YouTube.

In reference to the incident with MK Miri Regev (Likud), who arrived at the compound and was cursed many times by protestors, Leif said, "People here were expressing their anger and she told someone, 'You are closed minded.' I took the megaphone and tried to calm things down and her response was, 'Why do you have a megaphone and I don't?' She was surrounded by the media and did not connect with any of us."

"All we did was throw water on her, okay? She is a Knesset member that came here and showed contempt for people, most of whom are currently being evicted from their homes. She did not find herself in a supportive environment; she came to an angry place and she needs to accept that. How dare she say that I represent the extreme left! She should be ashamed of herself."
