Tawkon, which has developed an application to monitor mobile phone radiation, has raised $700,000 as part of its $1 million second financing round. Ilan Shiloach and Zvi Barinboim's TheTime joined TASC Strategic Consulting and private US and Israeli investors.
Tawkon made news when Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: APPL) CEO Steve Jobs rejected the company's application for the iPhone. Job's response to an appeal by Tawkon CEO Gil Friedlander was simply, "No Interest."
In May, a World Health Organization study said that radiation from mobile phone could pose a cancer risk. Tawkon subsequently received considerable comment in the media about its radiation measuring application.
