Rail traffic is returning to normal at stations south of Tel Aviv after a train stuck on a single track line has been moved.
There were again major disruptions on Israel Railways this morning, “IDF Radio" (Galei Zahal) reported. Stations south of Tel Aviv were affected by a train which was stuck on a single track line.
The worst affected stations were Rehovot, Yavne and Ashkelon where hundred of morning commuters were left stranded. The train broke down and blocked the single track line between Yavne and Rehovot.
A repair train was dispatched to handle the problem although it is not yet clear what caused the breakdown. Israel Railways said that services were gradually returning to normal after 9.30 am and that affected passengers will be duly compensated.
