Israel Aerospace Industries unit to unveil lightweight radar system

The ELM-2054 radar system will be presented at the Annual Association of the US Army Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC this week.

Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) will unveil a new lightweight airborne SAR/GMTI payload radar system at the 2011 Annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Meeting & Exposition in Washington, DC, this week.

The new ELM-2054 radar system, developed by IAI unit ELTA Systems Ltd., provides an innovative solution for all-weather, air-to-surface intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance applications. The system features modular, open architecture and can be conveniently configured into small tactical unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), light reconnaissance aircraft, tactical aerostats and more.

ELM-2054 includes the proven capabilities of ELTA’s legacy ELM-2055DX SAR/GMTI modular payloads and employs the latest advanced technologies to achieve high performance combined with a very low weight, small volume packaging and low power consumption.
