Dominique Strauss-Kahn pays private visit to Israel

The former IMF head and his wife Anne Sinclair were guests of French born businessman Jacques Friedmann in his Savion home.

Former managing director of the IMF Dominique Strauss-Kahn paid a surprise private visit to Israel over the weekend, the country's media reported. Strauss-Kahn, and his wife the New York born heiress and French journalist Anne Sinclair, were guests of French born businessman Jacques Friedmann, a former owner of the French TV station Canal Plus, in his Savion home.

Strauss-Kahn had been widely tipped to be the Socialist party candidate for the French presidential elections in 2014 but he was forced to resign as head of the IMF in May 2011 after allegations of sexual assault led to his arrest by New York police. Although charges were dropped, Strauss-Kahn has since been linked with additional misdemeanors, none of which have led to an indictment.

Strauss-Kahn, who left Israel on Sunday, was also a guest at a dinner party thrown by Alrov (Israel) Ltd. (TASE: ALRO) chairman and controlling shareholder Alfred Akirov.
