Partner requests 4G frequency trial

Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon told the company that he sees no reason why they should not carry out the trial, and instructed to go forward with it.

Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) has applied to the Ministry of Communications to carry out a 4G frequency trial. Minister of Communications Moshe Kahlon told the company that he sees no reason why they should not carry out the trial, and instructed to go forward with it.

The Ministry of Communications looks positively on approving the trial, but permission has apparently not yet been given, since Partner "is no longer making an effort" to receive it for this reason.

Partner is requesting to carry out a technological trial, which will aid the company in its current construction of a new mobile network that will facilitate the switch from 3G to 4G quickly, and require a relatively small number of changes.

The Ministry of Communications recently announced that it is planning to establish a tender committee to deal with 4G frequency, but due to pressure from new players in the Israeli mobile industry, it has delayed establishing the tender committee to allocate frequencies.
