Microsoft today unveiled its Windows 8 Beta version at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. During the launch, the company also presented its app store for the first time, with 70 applications including one from Israeli company Soluto Ltd. Soluto has developed a platform that enables users without any formal technical background to receive remote support from friends and family.
The app store is based on a new technology being promoted by Microsoft under the brand name metro.
Soluto chief product officer Roee Adler said, "This is an excellent opportunity for us to join this prestigious club. The Metro platform has enabled us to run riot in creative terms with the user interface, which has been especially rebuilt for the Windows 8 app store."
Tens of millions of users worldwide are expected to download Windows 8 Beta.
