015 Hallo package sends TASE telcos tumbling

The company will offer unlimited mobile calls and texting for NIS 99 per month.

International calls carrier 015 Hallo Ltd. launched its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service today with an offer never seen before in Israel: it will offer an unlimited calls and SMS package for NIS 99 per month, and an unlimited internet access package for NIS 19.90 per month to all buyers of the company's basic package.

015 Hallo is operated by Hilat - The Israeli Communication Company Ltd. 015 Hallo CEO Ronny Leschinksy told "Globes" that the reason for launching the mobile service now was to directly compete against the new mobile carriers Mirs Communications Ltd. and Golan Telecom Ltd. by beating them to market. "We planned this from the beginning," he said. "The amazing prices we're offering are not the launch price or discount price, but the prices we'll shortly offer."

015 Hallo's announcement sent Israel's telecommunications stocks tumbling for the biggest losses among Tel Aviv 25 shares. By early afternoon, HOT Telecommunication Systems Ltd. (TASE: HOT) was down 1.6%, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) was down 1.7% to NIS 6.17, Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) was down 2.9% to NIS 47.56, and Orange franchisee Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) was down 3.5% to NIS 28.01.
