Mobile games co MoMinis raises $4.5m

Current investors BRM Capital and Mitsui Ventures made the investment.

Mobile games developer MoMinis Ltd. has raised $4.5 million in its second financing round from its current investors, BRM Capital and Mitsui Ventures. The start up has raised $9.2 million to date.

MoMinis pioneered the mobile mega-game with PlayScape, a unified gaming environment with multiple games that provide cross-game incentives, a common rewards system, and one virtual currency, which are transferable between games. PlayScape already has over 50 titles.

MoMinis CTO Tzach Hadar, VP marketing Eyal Rabinovich, and VP R&D Zvi Rabinovich founded the company in 2008.

MoMinis CEO Itzik Frid said, "We're thrilled by the vote of confidence and continued support from BRM Group and Mitsui Ventures. We are happy to see that beyond its success in increasing user retention, distribution and discoverability, it's embraced by millions of users as an entertaining mobile experience."

BRM partner Eran Barkat said, "In a market where 99.99% percent of mobile apps languish and disappear, PlayScape offers a solution for mobile game developers, providing distribution and discoverability. With 15 million downloads in three months, MoMinis' platform is poised to become a market leader in this high growth market."
