Commenting on the damage that the computer worm "Flame" had caused, a spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Teheran said today, "There are states and entities that are not legitimate that are trying to create many viruses of this kind to hurt other states." The spokesperson claimed that the virus had not caused much damage, and said, "No great importance should be attached to this virus."
Official Iranian news agency Fars claimed that statements made today by Israeli Minister for Minister of Strategic Affairs Moshe Ya'alon were evidence that Israel was behind the virus. In an interview with Galei Tzahal (Israel Army Radio) program "Good Morning Israel", Ya'alon said, "Anyone who sees the Iranian threat as a substantial one is likely to employ various means, including these, to damage it." Ya'alon added that "Israel is blessed with being a high-tech rich country. These capabiltiies that we boast of open up all kinds of possibilities for us."
The Fars report further states that "Sources in Israel and India admitted their part is producing the most complex ever software in the history of espionage. Moshe Ya'alon, Deputy Prime Minister of Israel, said in an interview with army radio that anyone who takes the Iranian danger seriously must take various steps to harm them."
