Mellanox's ConnectX-3 FDR InfiniBand adapter silicon will be used in Intel server boards to improve their compute density, performance, and cost efficiency.
Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) today announced that Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC) has selected the company’s 56 Gbps InfiniBand solution to optimize Intel's I/O Expansion Modules and half-width server boards for high performance applications.
Mellanox's ConnectX-3 FDR InfiniBand adapter silicon will be used in Intel Server Board S2600WP and Intel Server Board S2600JF to improve their compute density, performance, and cost efficiency.
Mellanox VP marketing David Barzilai said, “Intel’s deployment of Mellanox InfiniBand silicon is a testament to the high performance and efficiency of our solutions. Server and storage OEMs looking to roll out faster and more powerful systems will maximize their products’ potential with Mellanox InfiniBand solutions."
Mellanox's share price rose 6.7% in early trading on Nasdaq today to $65.74, giving a market cap of $2.7 billion, after rising 3.9% on the TASE to NIS 254.50.
