iPad Mini arrives in Israel

Apple's authorized importer iDigital is selling the 16-gigabyte iPad Mini for NIS 1,650 and the 32-gigabyte Mini iPad for NIS 2,150.

The iPad Mini and 4G iPad arrived in Israel today, ahead of the arrive of the iPhone 5 during Hannukah. Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) authorized importer iDigital Ltd. is selling the 16-gigabyte iPad Mini for NIS 1,650 and the 32-gigabyte iPad Mini for NIS 2,150. The equivalent prices in the US are NIS 1,370 and NIS 1,780, respectively.

The iPad Mini has a 7.9-inch screen, compared with the 9.7-inch screen on other iPad models. The iPad Mini is 7.2 millimeters thick, 23% thinner than the previous model, and it weighs 53% less. It comes in black or white versions and with Apple's new Lightning connector, which the company says is wholly digital, more reliable, and 80% smaller than the current connector.

The 4G iPad has a high-speed A6X processor and a battery with a 10-hour capacity. The camera also has higher resolution. iDigital sells the 16-gigabyte 4G iPad for NIS 2,460. The equivalent price in the US is NIS 2,075.
