IKEA Israel today announced 39% sales growth in 2012 to NIS 770 million. It should be remembered that IKEA Israel had only one store, in Rishon LeZion, in 2011, after the fire at its Netanya store. Its stores had 3.5 million visitors in 2012.
IKEA Israel CEO Shlomi Gabbai said, "Since entering Israel, we have cut prices by an average of 11%. In the 2013 catalogue, distributed in September, we succeeded in lowering prices by an average of 4%, despite the rise in production and transport prices."
IKEA Israel chairman and owner Matthew Bronfman said, "I congratulate IKEA Israel's employees and managers for the impressive achievement in 2012. Two years ago, we announced our target of reaching NIS 1 billion in sales at three stores, and IKEA is on track to reach this goal."
