Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (KSX: 5930; LSE: SMSN, SMSD) will launch its Galaxy S3 Mini smartphone in Israel on Thursday. The price for the Galaxy S3 Mini, a weaker version of the company's flagship Galaxy S3 smartphone will be NIS 2,300 at Samsung's authorized importer Suny Electronics Ltd. (TASE: SUNY) and Samsung stores.
The Galaxy S3 costs NIS 3,500 on the company's website, although price comparison website Zap offers it for as low as NIS 2,600.
The Galaxy S3 Mini has a four-inch diagonal screen and a double-core processor with 1-Gbps access, compared with the Galaxy S3's 4.8-inch screen and quad-core processor with 1.4-Gpbs access. The Galaxy S3 Mini has a 5-megapixel camera compared with the Galaxy S3's 8-megapixel camera, and its battery has a capacity of 1,500 milliampere, compared with the Galaxy S3's 2,100-milliampere. The Galaxy S3 Mini uses an Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system.
