Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won a $35 million contract from the Ministry of Defense to develop advanced features for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for delivery within three years. One of the mission requirements is the quick re-configuration of the UAV payloads.

Elbit Systems UAV division general manager Elad Aharonson said, "The Ministry of Defense's decision to award this development contract reflects the trust and recognition of our technological capabilities and further strengthens our long-term strategic cooperation with the Israel Defense Forces in the UAV field. The Hermes 900 is a world-leading UAV, and we are proud of the Ministry of Defense's decision to procure further systems and advanced capabilities."
