Sources inform "Globes" that Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) will begin marketing Apple TVs. The digital media receivers will be sold both separately and as part of packages that include iPad Minis and Retina iPads with added surfing packages.
Apple TV shared viewing of photos, video clips, games and entertainment content. It is a complementary accessory to Apple's iTunes store that provides direct access to the company's content including ordering movies and music purchased from Apple's other products such as the iPhone.
In addition Apple TV enables viewing of content that is purchased on TV screens. The receiver includes Apple's AirPlay wireless technology allowing the screening of content or apps on iPads and iPhones on TV screens. Thus it's possible to screen on TVs video applications such as YouTube or alternatively play games on iPhones with the telephone or tablet becoming a console.
Until now it was only possible to buy Apple's streamer from exclusive authorized importer iDigital but in the next few days Partner will begin marketing the TVs. The device current costs NIS 520 in iDigital stores ($110 in the US), and it is not yet clear what price Partner will ask.
