Mobile web developer DudaMobile has closed a financing round of $10.3 million led by Pitango Venture Capital and Oren Zeev's Orens Capital. DudaMobile has developed a DIY mobile website solution for small businesses. Primera Capital, Figtree Partners, Dan Rose, VP Partnerships at Facebook, Don Katz, Audible.com CEO Zohar Gilon and others participated in the financing round. Following this latest investment, the company has raised $18.6 million to date.
DudaMobile CEO Itai Sadan said, “The mobile web is drastically changing the way consumers interact with businesses. With over 50% of the US population now using smartphones, businesses with a mobile-friendly website are seeing explosive growth coming from people searching on their phones. Consumers simply love the convenience of clicking a thumb-friendly button on their phone to call a business or get directions. It’s simple, easy and, for business owners, translates into real revenue growth.”
DudaMobile now has four million mobile websites built and hosted on its platform fuelled by its self-service platform, reseller network and partnerships with GoDaddy, Yahoo, Google, Homestead, OpenTable, AT&T and Webs.com. DudaMobile has also recently expanded into international markets with a localized version of their mobile website platform including Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico and Spain.
The company will use much of the proceeds of its latest financing round for product development and expanding its service offerings including mobile advertising.
DudaMobile chief communications officer Dennis Mink said, “When we started the company, we were focused on making it dead simple for your average small business owner to create a mobile website in minutes. As the space continues to evolve, businesses are looking to create a more sophisticated mobile presence that truly engages visitors and converts new prospects into loyal customers.”
Sadan and CTO Amir Glatt founded the company in 2009. Headquartered in Palo Alto, the company has its development center in Tel Aviv.
