Jive Software acquires social business platform StreamOnce

The company has raised $1.36 million to date and though no details were given about the acquisition, media reports suggest it was bought for about $10 million.

Jive Software Inc. (Nasdaq: JIVE) has acquired StreamOnce, which has developed a social business platform allowing knowledge workers to collaborate in context and connected to all relevant systems in one seamless experience. Headquartered in San Jose, California and with offices in Tel Aviv, StreamOnce was founded in 2012 by Ariel Cohen and Ilan Twig.

The company has raised $1.36 million to date and though no details were given about the acquisition, media reports suggest it was bought for about $10 million. Investors included Oren Zeev, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Lionbird, TriplePoint Capital, and Brad Lovering.

Following the acquisition, Jive has launched Jive StreamOnce, which allows people to use one, consolidated communications hub for all their collaboration needs. Jive says that this eliminates the need to work and manage multiple systems such as email or collaborate blindly without having the relevant context from key business applications.

Cohen said, "StreamOnce was founded on the vision that everyone can collaborate better by working in one place where they can find all the relevant information from all their business systems,"

Twig added, "The combination of Jive and StreamOnce's technologies is truly about delivering a great work experience that turbo-charges collaboration and productivity. We couldn't be more excited to join the Jive team."

Jive SVP product management Oudi Antebi said, "For collaboration to be truly effective, it has to be done in the context of where people work and tied to real business activity. Collaboration platforms, other than Jive, are totally disconnected from other business processes and where people actually communicate. With StreamOnce, Jive is transforming the way collaboration happens by connecting business applications, email with Jive's powerful collaboration platform to help deliver real business value within an organization."
