Bar Refaeli obtains foreclosure on Ben-Dov assets

The bank accounts of Ilan Ben-Dov's Suny have been levied, after it failed to pay Bar Refaeli court-ordered compensation.

The bank accounts of Suny Electronics Ltd. (TASE: SUNY), controlled by Ilan Ben-Dov, have been levied, after it failed to pay Bar Refaeli the court-ordered compensation. Sources inform ''Globes'' that Bar Refaeli initiated bailiff proceedings against Ben-Dov, after he did not respond to her demand to pay the NIS 550,000 debt. Her lawyer has also warned Suny that she will initiate liquidation proceedings against the company if it does not pay its debt to her.

In October, the Tel Aviv District Court ordered Suny to pay Bar Refaeli NIS 400,000 in compensation and NIS 150,000 in court costs for violating her rights in a 2006 advertising campaign for Samsung mobile phones (which Suny imports), in which she starred. The court also ordered Suny to pay. The court ruled in her favor that Suny used her images in ads without her knowledge.

At the time of the ruling, doubts were raised whether Refaeli would receive the compensation from Suny, in view of the company's poor financial shape. It was declared insolvent in early 2012, and its market cap has fallen to under NIS 21 million from over NIS 1 billion ten years earlier.
