High-tech in the Arab sector is gaining added support today, with the establishment of the business accelerator NazTech, in Nazareth. The project was started by MATI- Nazareth Business Development Center, the Nazareth Business Incubator Center, and PresenTense, which supports local and community initiatives. The corporate giant Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) will also support the initiative.
NazTech will support up to 15 ventures from the high-tech sector, which will receive assistance in the form of advice and mentoring, meetings with experienced entrepreneurs, and opening doors for the ventures. “Start-up Nation must be accessible all around Israel, not just the proveleged 15% of the population,” says PresenTense Israel CEO Guy Spigelman, “we call upon the brightest minds in the community of Arab technology entrepreneurs to submit applications, and take part in the accelerator’s first round.”
“Cisco has always been among the biggest supporters of integrating Arab [software] engineers in the workforce,” says Cisco Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Gai Hetzroni, “Today, we believe, the talents whom we had the honor of employing are ready to take the next step forward, and develop their own independent companies.”
