Nochi Dankner transfers half of home to wife

In September, Dankner transferred ownership of half of his Herzliya villa to his wife Orly.

In the midst of his fight for survival and control of debt-ridden IDB Holding Corp. Ltd. (TASE:IDBH), Nochi Dankner transferred half of his home to his wife Orly according to documents seen by "Yediot Ahronot."

Appraisers have valued the Dankners' Herzliya villa at NIS 40 million.

The documents show that Keren Kayemet holds the freehold on the property while the Dankners have owned the leasehold since 1998. Dankner has now divided up the property into three parcels and transferred equal rights to the leasehold to his wife.

Dankner himself bought the leasehold to two parcels of land from two different sellers in 1998 for NIS 9.3 million and joined the two lots. He took out a mortgage from Mercantile Discount Bank which has since been paid off.

Dankner's spokesman said, "By law half the rights to the marital home belongs to the wife and half to the husband."
