Businessman Eitan Wertheimer has bought Bachar House in Tel Aviv's Rothschild Boulevard for NIS 32 million. The property, which has its entrance at 35 Lillienblum St. (the adjacent street to Rothschild Boulevard) was acquired by Wertheimer from Aviv Group owned by Doron Aviv and Dafna Harlev.
Bachar House is a building with a conservation order designed by the renowned architect Yehuda Magidovitch in the 1920s for the Bachar family that had immigrated to Tel Aviv from Bulgaria.
The building includes 1,300 square meters of offices and a basement with a shared atrium with the adjacent office tower at 22 Rothschild being developed by Aviv Group.
The Aviv Group bought the lot in 2008 from Arcadi Gaydamak for NIS 135 million including the rights to build the tower at 22 Rothschild and four buildings for conservation, one of which is Bachar House.
Sources believe that Wertheimer will use the property as the offices for his Atidim philanthropic fund which promotes higher education opportunities for young people from the periphery.
Two years ago Wertheimer bought a 700 square meter penthouse in the Rothschild 1 luxury high-rise for NIS 46.5 million. Bachar House is several hundred meters from the penthouse.
