The business delegation will be the largest ever to visit Israel.

Quebec Province Premier Philippe Couillard will land in Israel next week at the head of a delegation of 80 Canadian businesspeople from the aviation, transportation, IT, and medical industries. According to the Israel-Canada Chamber of Commerce, which organized the visit in coordination with the Canadian embassy in Israel, this will be the largest ever business delegation to visit Israel.

Among the provinces of Canada, Quebec is one of the two main export destinations (together with Ontario), after Israel and Quebec signed a trade cooperation agreement in 2008. The goal of the week-long visit is to continue developing commercial cooperation between the two countries. It will include tours and meetings by delegation members at Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT), Aeronautics, Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1), and the site of Bombardier in Haifa, where 300 diesel railway carriages are being electrified.

Hosting the delegation will be Israel-Canada Chamber of Commerce chairman and Israel Infrastructure Fund chairman Adv. Yehuda Raveh and Israel-Canada Chamber of Commerce president and Bombardier Israel CEO Yossi Daskal.

Vintage Investment Partners founder and managing partner Alan Feld, who immigrated to Israel from Canada, will deliver the opening lectures to the visitors on the subject of the innovation environment in Israel, and a meeting with Minister of Transport Yisrael Katz will be held on the last day of the visit.

The Quebec economy is regarded as one of the fastest developing economies in the Western world in a range of areas. In addition to Bombardier, the province also houses the headquarters of Rolls Royce aircraft engines, Pratt & Whitney, Lockheed Martin, telecommunications company Ericsson, Motorola, Bell Canada, and software companies UbiSoft AutoDesk and EA Games.
