The government's budget deficit rose to NIS 1.9 billion in September compared with NIS 800 million in September 2013, the Ministry of Finance reports. However, in the first 9 months of 2014 the deficit was down to NIS 10.5 billion compared with NIS 14 billion in the same period of 2013.
The deficit over the past 12 months ending in September was 2.7% compared with 2.6% in the 12 months ending in August. Since the start of the year government expenditure has risen by 3.4% to NIS 187.4 billion.
State tax revenues income has risen 6.6% over the January-September period to NIS 192 billion. Tax collection from the capital market fell 0.8% in September to NIS 248 million.
