The layoffs are part of a global streamlining program.
Cisco Israel is laying off 280 employees today, most of them engineers and programmers, according to Hebrew daily 'Yediot Ahronot".
According to the report, the layoffs will be across all Cisco Israel's units, but most of them will be at the company's Israeli development center. The layoffs in Israel are part of a global streamlining plan by the US telecommunications equipment giant.
Eighteen months ago, Cisco dismissed dozens of employees in Israel as part of a global downsizing move.
