Israel's Defense Ministry orders precision rockets from IMI

Israel's Ministry of Defense has placed an order worth hundreds of millions of shekels with IMI Systems (Israel Military Industries) for precision rockets. Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman said that the order was "a first deal for a missile system that within a few years will be capable of covering any point at short and medium range."

The array of missiles and rockets that the IDF is setting up will boost its precision fire capabilities in future military conflicts. Within the past few months it was reported that a Missile Corps will be formed in the IDF, for which precision rockets will be procured, mainly from IMI, to the tune of up to NIS 8 billion over the next decade.
