The flights will take off earlier even if tomorrow morning's planned public workers strike is called off.
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) has brought forward the takeoff time of 20 flights tomorrow morning to avoid the public workers general strike scheduled to begin at 6 am.
Despite the early departure times, El Al asks passengers to come to the airport three hours before takeoff. The new timetable will still be in effect even if the Histadrut and Ministry of Finance reach agreement and the strike is called off.
Flight LY 611 to Moscow will now take off at 4.10 am instead of 5.50 for example, while flight LY 007 to JFK New York, due to take off at 9.40 am will now take off at 5.25 am.
