It’s good to work at Intel Israel: Just a few months after launching its voluntary retirement program, with improved terms for those employees wishing to sign up, Intel Israel announced today that it will award its employees bonuses that would make most green with envy.
The bonuses are based on the US chip-giant’s impressive 2014 performance and record revenue. The bonuses include 2.5 salaries per employee and a $500 gift. Those in the voluntary retirement program will also receive these benefits.
Intel also recently announced that it is distributing tablets to its employees - a decision that reflects the company’s satisfaction with the performance of its employees. Intel Israel spokesperson Guy Grimland declined to comment on the amounts of the bonuses and gifts, but said: “At Intel, bonuses are distributed to all employees, and reflect the company’s success and profitability.”
Already in late October 2014, Intel launched its voluntary retirement program for 2,500 production workers, due to changes in Intel Israel’s human-resources structure, as part of an initiative that is being carried out by Intel at all of its global locations. The voluntary retirement plans that were offered to some employees included salaries for 12-20 months, grants, bonuses, and options worth up to a few hundred thousand shekels. Intel described the bonuses as “routine.”
