In 2014, Israel's Defense Exports Controls Agency (DECA) received 48,000 applications to products to 190 countries.

In 2014, the Israeli Defense Ministry's Defense Exports Controls Agency (DECA) received applications for 48,000 licenses to market defense equipment, systems and products to 190 countries. This is a rise of 70% from 2013 when 68% of applications were for unclassified products. DECA released the data ahead of its annual conference today.

DECA data show that Israel has 1,303 registered exporters holding 184,000 licenses for marketing goods. In 2014, 7,600 licenses were awarded for exports to 130 countries. These are the final approvals required for the actual export of the defense systems abroad as distinct from the initial marketing applications for potential deals, which are required just to exhibit products to foreign companies.

DECA said that there were 166 instances of suspected violations of the Defense Exports Controls Agency Law in 2014. These were discovered during impromptu visits to companies and resulted in fines totaling NIS 2 million, down from NIS 4 million in fines in 2013. Fines have totaled NIS 11 million since the law was enacted in 2007.
