Israel Railways scored an all-time record in the number of passengers in March: 5.4 million rides, 17% more than the 4.6 million rides in March 2015 and 29% more than in March 2014. The previous record of 4.9 million rides was in November 2015. Israel Railways said that the biggest increase in the number of rides was 25% on the Tel Aviv-Binyamina line (compared with the corresponding month last year). Rides were up 24% on the Ashkelon-Tel Aviv route and 19% on the Hod Hasharon-Tel Aviv route, compared with the corresponding period last year.
