The Israel Medical Association strike follows recent reforms attempted by Health Minister Litzman.
The Israel Medical Association (IMA) is threatening to hold a strike on next Thursday, although the main reason for the labor dispute declared a week and a half ago has meanwhile disappeared, after the chapter prohibiting department heads from engaging in private practice was removed from the Economic Arrangements Bill.

The Israel Medical Association clarifies that the labor dispute was motivated by further reasons, including the non-manning of medical intern quotas.

About a week and a half ago, the IMA declared a labor dispute, "Due to Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Health's intentions of damaging the status and wage conditions of department heads in the public system," as stated in the announcement.
