Israeli private equity firm Fortissimo closes $470m fund

Fortissimo now manages four funds worth nearly $1 billion for investment in maturing technology and industrial companies.

Israeli private equity firm Fortissimo Capital announced today the closing of its fourth fund, Fortissimo Capital Fund IV L.P., with commitments of $470 million.

Fortissimo Capital founding and managing partner Yuval Cohen said, Several new large and prestigious investors decided to invest in this fund, which quickly became substantially oversubscribed. We see their participation as a strong vote of confidence in our investment philosophy and our ability to work with managers to enhance the value of our portfolio companies."

Investors in Fortissimo IV include large institutional investors from the US, Europe and Israel, including: state and corporate pension funds, endowments, fund of funds, trusts and insurance companies.

Rosh Ha'ayin based Fortissimo manages close to $1 billion through four funds. The first fund was founded in April 2004, and raised $80 million, the second fund raised $110 million in 2008, and the third fund raised $265 million in 2012.

Some of Fortissimos notable exits include: the recent IPO of Kornit Digital Ltd (Nasdaq: KRNT); the IPO of Sodastream International Ltd. (Nasdaq: SODA); the sale of Nur Macroprinters to Hewlett Packard; the sale of Cadent Inc. to Align Inc.; and the sale of AOD Software Inc. to a US based private equity fund.

Fortissimo Capital Fund IV is a special situations and growth capital Israeli-related private equity fund focused primarily on maturing technology and industrial companies that are at a point of inflection.
