Lenny Recanati has purchased an apartment in the Nahardea-Beeri project in Tel Aviv for NIS 33.5 million, sources inform "Globes." The apartment, located on one of the top floors of the the 31-story tower on Nahardea St. in central Tel Aviv, covers 400 sq.m.
Sources also inform "Globes" that the apartment is the result of combining two apartments on the floor. A typical floor in the project has three apartments. Recanati, married to Shira Farber, is part of the third generation of the Recanati family, one of Israel's best-known families, and is among the owners of Recanati Winery. Recanati confirmed the details to "Globes," but declined to comment further on the matter.
The Nahardea-Beeri high-rise is a development project built by a company owned by Canadian Jewish businessman Hershy Friedman, who is also the controlling shareholder in the Azorim Investment, Development and Construction Ltd. (TASE: AZRM) real estate company. The tower, constructed a decade ago, has 60 residential units, for which marketing began in 2006. The tower includes a private swimming pool and a workout room, and is a short walk away from Kikar Hamedina. One of the most expensive apartments in Israel, a penthouse on the top floor of the tower (30th and 31st floors), was purchased by businessman Sami Sagol in July 2011 for NIS 62.4 million.
According to a description of the deal on the Israel Tax Authority website, this apartment covers 600 sq.m. with five parking spaces in the tower parking lot. In addition to Sagol, other well-known businessmen have bought apartments in the tower in recent years, including high-tech businesswoman Dalia Prashker, First International Bank of Israel (TASE: FTIN) controlling shareholder Zadik Bino, Castro Model Ltd. (TASE: CAST) CEO and controlling shareholder Gabi Roter, Ari Steimatzky, Dan Gillerman, Gad Somekh CPA, and Nochi Dankner's children, Omer and Rona Dankner.
