Mobileye (NYSE: MBLY) founders Prof. Amnon Shashua and Ziv Aviram were named entrepreneurs of the year at the “Entrepreneur of the Year” (EOY) awards ceremony organized by EY accounting firm. The announcement was made on Wednesday at opening gala event of EY and "Globes" 19th annual Journey conference.
EY’s EOY program has been held for over 20 years and is part of the global firm’s strategy - to accompany entrepreneurs and strategic growth companies. The program is designed for entrepreneurs of growing companies and for those whose business potential may impact the global economy. Its goal is to encourage and recognize entrepreneurship and groundbreaking entrepreneurs who have introduced business, technological and scientific innovations.
The program, which is hosted in 145 cities and in 60 countries, will take place in Israel for the 10th year. The winners of each country will meet in the world competition in Monaco, June 2016, where the World Entrepreneur of the Year will be announced.
This year’s Israeli panel of judges was headed by Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) chairman Yair Seroussi and included Dr. Shimon Eckhouse founder and chairman of Syneron, Pinchas Buchris State of Mind Ventures partner, Dr. Orna Berry EMC Israel’s Center of Excellence CEO, Shlomo Dovrat Carmel Ventures founding partner, Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX) CEO and president Eyal Waldman, Avi Hasson Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Economy, Yuval Cohen Fortissimo CEO, Maya Liquornik Meitar Liquornik Geva Leshem Tal managing partner Dov Moran Comigo founder and CEO, Yossi Sela Gemini managing partner and Haim Shani, Israel Growth Partners founder.
