Motorola Solutions has announced it is establishing a new Innovation Center in Israel. The new center will seek out startup investments in cyber security, mobile technologies, Internet-of-Things, big data analytics and more. Motorola Solutions Chairman and CEO Greg Brown made the announcement during a meeting in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu told Brown, “You’re in the right place, in the right country, in the right business. That’s a very good match. I hope that other multinational companies in the development of technologies come to Israel - because they’ll benefit.”
Motorola Solutions Israel Ltd. is based in Airport City near Tel Aviv. The firm develops, manufactures and markets communications infrastructure, devices and solutions for public, private and other environments. Motorola has had a marketing presence in the country since 1948 and was one of the first multinational companies to set up an R&D center in Israel way back in 1964.
Brown said, “When we think about additional PhDs, data scientists, high-tech resources around analytics and cyber, Motorola wants to invest more resources here in Israel. This is an outstanding area for innovation, technology incubation, joint venture investment. We will invest in startup companies here in Israel, emerging nascent technologies, next-generation, that I think will allow us to differentiate our solutions and technologies and strengthen the competitive effectiveness of Israel."
