Road 9 now links Road 6 at the Bakr Interchange to Road 4 south of Hadera.

A new 2.5 kilometer eastern section of Road 9 has opened at an investment of NIS 135 million. Drivers can now travel between Road 4 south of Hadera, eastwards on Road 9 to the newly enlarged Bakr Interchange on Road 6 (the Cross-Israel Highway toll-road). The project includes two new bridges over Road 581 as well as a roundabout and traffic lights where it meets Road 9.

Netivei Israel National Transport Infrastructure Co. CEO Nissim Peretz said, "Completion of this project is major news for the people of this region. The new road will shorten journey times to the north and center of the country."

Road 9 is the latest in a series of lateral east-west roads, including Roads 7, 431 and 531, which link Israel's major north-south highways (Roads 2,4 and 6).
